CellView
Future Developments
Currently, CellView is a demonstrator and has already been positively received by operators and industry personnel. Enhancements have been designed but not implemented and focus on the following areas:
  • Web Enablement - The CellView user interface is currently running under X Windows and OSF/Motif. This will be ported to a Web Browser environment when circumstances permit.
  • Drive test data
This point data is imported and used to create a Measured surface using one of the many interpolation techniques available. A Difference surface can then be generated and used to verify the accuracy of propagation models.
  • Dynamic Symbology
Using Glyph techniques, symbols can be moved across the display, showing the location of drive test vehicles at particular times during the run. This capability can also be used to monitor vehicles equipped with position-sensing equipment such as GPS.
  • Presentation graphics
A full range of line, bar and pie graphs are available with 2D and 3D options. These charts can be placed on the map to indicate measured switch statistics for server areas.
